Tories and Technology don't seem to mix

The Tories (cf Republicans) can't even handle Postcodes (cf ZIPcodes) so what hope have they for handling more advanced manifestations of technology? That was the main reason I resigned from them a few years ago; there were other issues but this was the last straw. In my resignation letter I said "An apparently trivial thing, but one which I consider to be indicative of the attitude and efficiency of both local and central offices has been to get consistently correct correspondence of my Post Town and Postcode. This despite repeated efforts by both myself and [one of their Councillors] over nearly 10 years; my offers of professional help have also been ignored." "Through this administrative failing I have also missed many circulars, although [my local Councillor] has often delivered these by hand to get round your system and retain my support. You may note that correspondence to me from the Liberal, Labour and other parties have always arrived on time and correctly addressed." Seven months went by without a reply, then I received a letter saying that my subscription was overdue, so I wrote "The vain attempts by the Conservative Party in general (and this branch in particular) to reach even late-twentieth century standards of office administration would be laughable if it weren’t so sad." Again no reply, apathy rules OK. |
